🏁 BREAKING NEWS
A New Era of Mindanao Motorsports Begins
For years, racers across Mindanao dreamed of having a place they could truly call home—a purpose-built circuit where skill would matter more than luck, where drivers could push their limits in a safe and competitive environment, and where motorsports could continue to grow for generations to come.
On July 26, 2026, that dream became reality.
The DCKING Superlap Series – Leg 1 officially marked the beginning of Mindanao's first circuit car time attack championship, welcoming more than 60 drivers from across the island to Davao Circuit Riding Academy in Astorga, Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur.
It was more than a race weekend. It was the beginning of a movement.
More Than Just a Competition
Long before the first car entered the circuit, months of planning, preparation, and collaboration had already taken place behind the scenes. Drivers spent countless hours preparing their cars. Garages worked late into the night perfecting setups. Teams traveled from different cities with one goal in mind—not simply to compete, but to become part of history.
As the morning sun rose over the 1.3-kilometer circuit, the atmosphere was unlike anything Mindanao had experienced before. The pit lane slowly filled with race cars. Engines echoed across the paddock. Friends became rivals. Veterans lined up beside first-time competitors. Families, spectators, mechanics, photographers, sponsors, and volunteers all gathered with one shared excitement.
History was about to be written.
Every Lap Meant Something
Unlike traditional racing where victory is decided by wheel-to-wheel battles, time attack demands absolute precision. Every lap is a race against the clock. Every corner rewards confidence. Every braking point tests discipline. Every millisecond matters.
Drivers had only one objective: set the fastest lap possible.
With the official electronic timing system recording every run, every competitor had the opportunity to establish the first official benchmark times ever recorded for the DCKING Superlap Series. From lightly modified street cars to purpose-built performance machines, every class showcased remarkable talent and determination.
The championship wasn't about having the most expensive car. It was about extracting every ounce of performance from both driver and machine.
A Community United by Motorsport
One of the most remarkable moments of the weekend wasn't measured by lap times. It was measured by unity.
More than 20 clubs, racing teams, garages, and automotive communities came together under one roof, proving that motorsports in Mindanao is stronger when everyone moves in the same direction. Drivers shared advice. Teams congratulated competitors. Mechanics helped one another. Fans cheered regardless of which garage a driver represented.
The DCKING Superlap Series became more than a championship—it became a celebration of the entire motorsports community.
The First Champions
As the final sessions concluded and the timing screens displayed the official results, new names were etched into the history books. The inaugural class champions were crowned. The first official records were established. The benchmark had been set.
Standing above them all was Carlo Aguilar of Phatspeed Racing, driving the formidable Toyota GR Yaris. With an exceptional performance throughout the weekend, Carlo claimed the title of Overall Champion while also securing the Titan Class Championship, becoming the first driver to earn the distinction of being crowned the overall champion of the DCKING Superlap Series.
His victory represents more than personal success. It represents the standard that future competitors will chase for years to come.
Building the Future of Racing
The DCKING Superlap Series is more than an annual championship. It reflects a broader vision to create opportunities for drivers to compete safely, develop their skills, and grow the sport in Mindanao.
At the heart of that vision is the Davao Circuit Riding Academy, a dedicated motorsports facility designed to provide a permanent venue for organized competition, driver development, and community events. This championship is another step toward establishing a stronger motorsports culture—one built on discipline, sportsmanship, and respect for the track.
A Championship Made Possible Together
This historic weekend would not have been possible without the dedication and support of countless individuals and organizations.
To every racer who trusted the championship. To every club, garage, and team that answered the call. To every marshal, official, volunteer, photographer, videographer, and spectator who contributed their time and passion. And to our valued partners and sponsors, whose belief in this vision helped turn an ambitious idea into a historic event.
Thank you for helping build something that will inspire the next generation of racers.
This Is Only the Beginning
History remembers those who take the first step. The first lap has been completed. The first records have been written. The first champions have been crowned.
But this is far from the finish line.
As preparations begin for DCKING Superlap Series 2026 – Leg 2, the challenge continues. Champions will return to defend their titles. New competitors will arrive determined to make their mark. Records will be broken. New stories will be written.
And together, we will continue building the future of motorsports in Mindanao. Because this isn't simply about finding the fastest driver. It's about creating a legacy.
